Dota 2 Matchmaking Update

Dota 2 Patch update: 20th April, 2017

Recent Updates have introduced some new gaming mechanisms to our favourite game, Dota 2. Valve loves Us. So for Our convenience, the Dota 2 Matchmaking Update has made some amazing changes to the Matchmaking Algorithm. Dota 2 is all about the multiplayer element. So their aim was to balance the servers out for All of Us.

Also, for All of Us who had to put up with non-co-operative teammates, rejoice, for the Solo Queuing is here back again, especially for you. Also, in this Dota 2 Matchmaking Update now to play Ranked matches, you need to link your account. With what exactly? Scroll down and you’d know.

Linked Accounts:

Now Valve has got you spot on. For all the ones with multiple accounts, you have to choose now. The choice of choosing one account to play, Ranked Matchmaking. Yes, as far as the new match making goes, you have to register a Unique Phone Number (which is possibly yours) to your ID. This will help Valve improve the matchmaking experience for you.

Valve wants to reduce the number of smurfs and other accounts such as bots. These types of accounts can, let’s just say, be quite a nuisance. This will also reduce the number of account buyers too post the Dota 2 Matchmaking Update.

A number linked to an account, can be changed. Erase it and add a new number to it. Though the previously used number cannot be registered again until a period of 3 months. After that, you can link the number to another account. Once, you have registered a number with an account, you cannot use the same number for another account. You can only do that if you change your previous number linked to a previous account. The grace period of linking your number to an account is just of two weeks. That is till the 4th of May (American standard time), so you better hurry.

Those who haven’t linked their accounts with a number will not be allowed to participate in Ranked Matchmaking. Also, you cannot use any online services that provide numbers, to use those numbers to register to your account).

Solo Queuing:

Dota 2 Matchmaking Update

Recognising the needs of you, as an individual player, Valve has added solo queue again. Solo queuing simply means if you are a Solo Player with no party, you are matched up against other 9 players who are Solo Players too.

Perks are you need to choose the option for it to take effect. This option will be enabled for Ranked matchmaking for a better experience. No more abusing parties, Hurray!

Party MMR Changes:

Dota 2 Matchmaking Update

Since Dota 2 Matchmaking Update, your MMR Calibration works in a different manner. At least for Party games. If you pair up in a party, and your Solo MMR is higher than your Party MMR, then you are matched at a different MMR. This MMR will be around halfway of your Solo & Party MMR.

This Dota 2 Matchmaking Update is brought about to help you have stable matches. Many a times, it would happen, that if there is a vast difference in your Solo MMR & Party MMR, then you’d be matched with opponents on the basis of your party’s highest Party MMR.

For some of you’ll, this would result in an easy win (as you have a higher Solo MMR than Party MMR). Though, for the majority rest, it would be unfair to be matched up against high skill opponents which leads to frustration. This changes has been made keeping in mind your comfort and fun levels. While also retaining the same balance of Win/Loss Rate as before.

Game behaviour:

These are some significant changes brought out to the Low Priority too. You now will receive a Time Based Ban. It will be in addition to the number of Low Priority Games you will have to play. The time ban may be from a few minutes to a number of days if you have been reported a lot or have abandoned a lot.

For the ones who have been ruining games for the sake of fun, beware of this Dota 2 Matchmaking Update. The New Dota 2 Mechanism will be detecting every match of played, very strictly. Such a step is specially taken to discourage Intentional Feeding that occurs due to Rage Quits. So calm your tits down and play the game quietly and seriously.

Also, for the ones who have been Botting, there is a high chance that Your Account Will Be Banned. With the new introductions, Valve has taken some serious steps to Permanently Ban Accounts that have been using Botting.

Botting is when you make use of scripts to Play The Game while you are AFK in Real Life. VAC couldn’t detect these cheats before but with the Dota 2 Matchmaking Update, they can. Botting also ruins games for other players as having a bot can result in non-cooperation and may result in a loss for that team.

And also, try not to get reported quite often, or you will be welcomed to the low priority.

No More Ranked Games In India:

Dota 2 Matchmaking Update

It has been done. From 20th April, 2017 onwards, the Match Making Servers of India, South Africa & Dubai, would no longer be holding Ranked Matches. It is really unfortunate. Valve noticed players have been abusing these servers to get higher ranks due to a very limited number of player playing games on these. To Prevent the abuse, they have decided to close the Ranked Server in these regions with the Dota 2 Matchmaking Update. Bye Bye MMR.

Now, Statistics have been enabled in the Tab Column for you guys. This will be available through Stats Selection to view. You will now get to know the Base Attack, the Attributes, Level Gains, Defence & Mobility Stats and their Health and Mana Pools too.

Well, this Dota 2 Matchmaking Update will certainly affect the way we play the game, but we feel its for the greater good ! Until next time ! Keep Gaming and Stay Limitless !
